If the spark on one side (in your case the left one) is strong, than it can't be the black box because the problem would appear on both sides. You may change the right and the left ignition cable and see if the problem is still at the same plug of your ignition coil. If it is still on the same Plug, it's the coil. If it has changed together with the cable, it's the cable.
For me it sounds rather to be this cable, that is broken or shortcircuit to its metal cover, than your ignition coil or the ignition box.
